From Friday 28th -Sunday 30th ..11am-6pm, I am opening my home and studio, as part of The Exeter Open Studios, at 17 Maple Rd. St.Thomas, Exeter EX4 1BN…you will be made most welcome..there will be paintings to view, sketchbooks and art folders to browse..videos to watch, in a relaxed informal setting…fun will be the word…watch me working …light refreshments available..and perhaps if you choose..we could converse on Art.. and Life:)
The aims and ethos of Exeter Open Studios.. is to bring a focused voice to the inspirations that make Exeter unique..helping it to become a ‘must visit’, cultural hub for the SW region. Thus bringing further economic, as well as social well being to the citizens of this wonderful city. With its rich Roman roots and wealthy Middle Ages heritage..it is time to create a new renaissance in Exeter’s chequered history, creating a worthy flagship to take us joyfully into this still fledgling millenium.
The artists opening their studios to the public wish to reach out and embrace the wider community, to actively communicate our inclusivity of approach…so that the arts are seen to be a meaningful part of daily life. Without the celebratory threads of culture..through all the arts..society becomes increasingly impersonal..denying a meaningful interaction for the individual..bringing a sterility..which denies the inspiring essences which so lift the heart and heal the soul.Au
